Renting a Storage Unit Online vs. In Person

We are living in a world where almost anything can be done with the click of a mouse or the swipe of a finger. At Moove In Self Storage, renting a storage unit online is possible! Everything from selecting your unit size and type to signing the rental agreement and securing your gate access code – you can do it all from home (or anywhere with an internet connection) on a computer, smartphone or tablet with ease. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of renting online versus renting at the store.

Renting a Storage Unit Online

Many of us were slightly skeptical when we were first able to shop online to make purchases. As time went on, we became excited to do our holiday shopping online! W even have our purchases gift wrapped and shipped directly to the recipient – saving us tons of time.

The same goes for renting storage units online. If you are someone who prefers to shop online, hates phone calls or are just simply are out of time; then renting online is for you! Here is the process of renting a storage unit online in a few easy steps:

After payment has been processed, (typically just a few moments), you will receive an email confirmation of your rental. This email serves as your receipt. It also includes your gate access code, storage unit number, and a map of the property to easily locate your unit. This online rental process is very convenient for our customers because it is live 24/7/365! That means you can rent your storage unit at any time on any day (even holidays). It’s doesn’t matter if our rental office is open. Keep in mind, gate access is restricted to 6am-10pm daily, so your gate code will not work outside of those hours. However, if you need extended access, simply contact your property manager to make a request.

Renting In Person

Renting a storage unit online not for you? We will always have a property manager on site at least five days a week with convenient office hours. You can call and speak with the property manager first to see what you need to do if that makes you more comfortable. In fact, you can visit our website and check out our prices ahead of time as well. You can even reserve a self storage unit online or over the phone, and plan to visit our rental office when it is convenient for you to complete the rental.

The rental process is basically the same. Talk with the property manager and decide on the size and type of storage unit you will need and select a third-party insurance plan to protect your belongings. Then, sign the rental agreement and provide payment with cash, check or credit card and get your gate access code. You can have the receipt printed out or emailed to you (or both) for your records. The property manager will then take you to your storage unit so you know where it is located and off you go!

Renting a self storage unit online or in person are both easy and convenient – it really just depends on your preferences as to which one you will like and prefer. There really isn’t one that is better than the other overall. You end up with the same outcome – a clean storage unit at a secure property where you can store your valuables and feel confident they will be protected and stay safe.
