The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with a mission to foster and promote the artistic and cultural vitality of Sussex County. They have an art gallery located at 133 Spring Street in Newton, NJ where they present art exhibitions for their members.  They also hold two juried exhibits each year, a special senior citizens exhibit, and special exhibits for young artists.

The Council is the designated organization that distributes funds provided by the State of New Jersey, to art and history groups throughout Sussex County. It also arranges art displays in businesses and public spaces throughout the County. As the Council is an all-volunteer organization, they can always use more help with:

  • SCAHC GalleryGallery Sitting
  • Receiving and taking down art
  • Office work (including Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook)
  • Telephoning
  • Cleaning and care of the gallery
