Something that is really important to Moove In Self Storage, whether it be at the Lancaster, York or Huntingdon area locations, is to be involved in our communities and give back. One of our favorite charities to work with is Volunteers is America. Here is a little bit about them.

Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those most in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. Volunteers of America’s nationwide organization of over 16,000 professionals and 70,000 volunteers has established itself as one of the nation’s largest providers of a broad and diverse range of quality human services. We serve more than 2 million people in over 400 communities each year through hundreds of Volunteers of America human service programs.

Since 1896 Volunteers of America has supported and empowered America’s most vulnerable groups, including at-risk youth, the frail elderly, low-income families, homeless individuals and families, women and children escaping domestic violence, and those seeking affordable housing solutions.

In fact, today, Volunteers of America is the largest nonprofit developer and provider of affordable housing in the nation. Their work “touches the mind, body, heart - and ultimately the spirit - of those they serve, integrating their deep compassion with highly effective programs and services.”

This Winter we ran a clothing collection drive for them. We collected clothing and shoes at each of our facilities. The participation was just astounding. We used our trucks to gather up all of the items and delivered over 2,000 items. We know they will put the items to great use and we are proud to be affiliated with them.

We are so proud of all of our Property Manager’s for helping in this drive and we look forward to running more drives in 2012 for them.

At our Huntingdon branches, we have two brand new Managers.  They are focusing on learning self-storage and customer service and loving every minute of it.

At our North George branch Chad is learning the area and looks forward to marketing in 2012.

At our Canal Road location Suzy is planning on spending more time with her family and continuing to be involved in charity work this year.

It is always a company resolution to keep providing the best possible storage experiences to all our tenants.  We wish you luck on all of your New Year’s resolutions and every other time of the year resolutions too.

Peggy at our Stone Mill Road location wants to focus on exercising more and marketing more in the local community.

Chris at our Manheim location would like to join Toastmasters to improve presentation skills and to learn new sales skills to sell with less effort.

Jason at 741 would like to keep providing the best customer service possible.

Dana at the Buck facility would like to attend a Steelers football game at Heinz Field and hug Ryan Clark & Rashard Mendenhall.

Tim at Centerville Road would like to read more books, walk and bike more, attend more Lancaster Chamber events, and continue providing great customer service that brings back tenants every year.
